19 Feb 1986. Hughes Aircraft's "Helium Singers" perform at the annual winter gathering held
near the Springhill Golf Course in Aurora, CO on the 19th of February, 1986. The choir was
comprised of members from CHSA and other support group folks. Members were provided
with balloons containing helium, from which they would inhale small quantities prior to
"singing" their lines. Was a hit with the crowd! This video's origins are that from an old VHS
video tape provided by Lou Macca. Lou explains during a segment of video that the date
displayed was not correct…that the date was Feb 19, 1986. I took the liberty of overwriting the
original video date with a caption displaying the proper date. The tape suffers from low resolution, synch problems, over/under
exposure, and other ill effects attributable to that day's technology. Nevertheless, it's all we have to bring back the memories of
this very fun event! Pete Latham played the part of the Penguin. Some appearing in this video have since passed on, others have
moved out of state, still others remain living in the Denver Metro Area.

I’ve located seven photos taken at the 1999 Raytheon Christmas Party; Browning, Schuyler, the
Chaffins, York, Shulsinger, Spaar, Welch, and Johnson. Most had hair back in the day.
These 50+ images are from my collection of old low-resolution digitized photos, previously accessed
via the HARA/Raytheon website residing on my previous server. If you find any errors, please get in
touch and I'll repair them ASAP. If you have any additional photos of this event, please share them
with us and we'll update the slideshow.
18 Dec 2004. As you can see from the title, what had been celebrated in the past as a
"Christmas" event had been by this date changed to a "Holiday" event. Hughes/GM/Raytheon
people are by and large very hard workers. Folks have learned how to cram 10 hours worth of
work into an 8-hour day. Others on occasion would work 24-72 hours straight...depending upon
the tasks at hand. So...we worked hard, and in recognition of this fact once a year a "Holiday
Event" was scheduled by the company. In 2004 Ms. Jana Shaw was the team lead for putting
together this annual event...and what a super job she'd accomplished! The event was held at the Mile High Stadium, home of the
Denver Broncos. After visiting with folks and eating a fine meal...we toured the Stadium insides and outsides...finally saw what
goes on behind the scenes! Photos by George L. Smith.
A gala celebrating 40 years of collaborative partnership serving our nation and her allies featuring
Lt. Col. Jim Reynolds as the Master of Ceremonies and hosted by the ADF Commander Col. (now
Brig. Gen.) Ron Huntley. Following the posting of the nation’s colors by the ADF-C Joint Services
Color Guard, the Arapahoe High School Singers, under the direction of Kelly Parmenter, sang the
National Anthems of Allied Countries attending the ceremonies. It would be a rare find to locate a
group of singers who could perform any better than this group! A very special event during this Gala celebration was the
presence of an American Bald Eagle during the singing of the National Anthem, seen at 6 minutes 20 seconds into the video. The
occasion was highlighted with honoring four Hughes/GM/Raytheon employees for their lengthy and honorable service at the
ADF, followed by messages from various agency directors and leaders.
