1986 The Hughes Helium Choir

19 Feb 1986, Springhill Golf Course

Hughes Aircraft's "Helium Singers" perform at the annual winter gathering held at the Springhill Golf Course in Aurora, CO on the 19th of February, 1986. The choir was comprised of members from CHSA and other support group folks. Members were provided with balloons containing helium, from which they would inhale small quantities prior to "singing" their lines. Was a hit with the crowd! This video's origins are that from an old VHS video tape provided by Lou Macca. Lou explains during a segment of video that the date displayed was not correct…that the date was Feb 19, 1986. I took the liberty of overwriting the original video date with a caption displaying the proper date. The tape suffers from low resolution, synch problems, over/under exposure, and other ill effects attributable to that day's technology. Nevertheless, it's all we have to bring back the memories of this very fun event! Pete Latham played the part of the Penguin. Some appearing in this video have since passed on, others have moved out of state, others remain living in the Denver Metro Area.
