Continuing the process of moving all Aleutian’s files over to my domain name: https://www.hlswilliwaw.com/Aleutians. During this process, also creating/updating MOBILE versions of each web page. Note: I highly recommend viewing all Aleutian web pages on a full-sized monitor with an updated browser. Recent history, as of 2/12/2022: On 22 Apr 2017 I created subdomains for each of the Aleutian Island’s websites, with the exception of several smaller sites that remained as a sub-page to the larger Aleutian Islands effort. I recently added SSL protections to our domain name “hlswilliwaw.com” to fall in line with all the browsers detecting non-SSL-protected sites and presenting the fearful “unprotected” icon when our subdomain pages would be brought up. As each subdomain would require their own SSL protection key, each costing $$$, I decided to return all Aleutian Island websites under my domain name…which is SSL protected. Our Aleutian websites, including newly extracted subject material worthy of their own website presence, are now accessed as follows: https://www.hlswilliwaw.com/aleutians Each website, as their content was transfered over to their new (present) locations, was rebuilt using current WWW HTML coding, along with a new “look and feel,” bringing our websites into a current state of presentation. In some instances, I’ve added colorization to B&W photos in addition to maintaining the original B&W images. I am currently working on creating the MOBILE versions of each website page to accomodate that marketplace. 4/30/2022: 15:51 Completed the Aleutian’s website pages rebuild, including equivalent mobile versions of all but the major Island websites (Attu, Shemya, etc.). Still working on getting the content of the Attu WWII Veterans Database reinstalled. This one will take some time...LOTS OF RECORDS, manually entering one at a time! 6 Dec 2008. On the 29th of November, 2008, I transferred our domain name "hlswilliwaw.com" to a newer, faster server having more capacity to hold our growing website files. Each page as transferred over from the old server to the new server has been given a "cleaning," checking for valid links and objects, and attaining a new "look and feel" to the page as well. You will find new ways to navigate around the site, including the use of inline dropdown menus, tree menus, and standard buttons. If you can't find what you are looking for, please get it touch. If you find missing links, erroneous links, or error of content, please also let me know. The WWII Veterans Databases are being manually re-populated, which will take some time to catch them up to their previous state of content. There's a lot of spam and irrelevant records that had been added over the years, so I'm doing a complete check on all records as I manually re-type them into the new databases.
